We are developing fun applications that stimulate and inspire children to learn and practice math both at home and at school.
This application encourages Second Grade children to practice the addition of two double digit (0-99) numbers (with carrying), the subtraction of two double digit (0-99) numbers (without borrowing or negative answers), and the multiplication tables of 2’s, 5’s and 10’s (to “times 10”).
Children can gain confidence by doing practice problems for addition, subtraction, and multiplication with unlimited time, or they can build proficiency by selecting "Minute Math" to see how many problems they can answer with a time limit. The app defaults to 10 problems and 60 seconds, but these can be changed in the SETTINGS area of the iPhone/iPod Touch.
Teachers are using the Kids Math Fun applications in their classrooms to reinforce math, addition, subtraction, and multiplication concepts. Considering their comments, we added a “Double Dare” feature so children can expand their math skills by mastering the inverse relationship between addition and subtraction. A “Try Again” feature allows children to develop mastery by attempting a problem again if they get it wrong.
A new “Show Scores” button allows children and parents to see the high scores for all four regular and all four “Minute Math” activities.
A score board in the right hand corner, shows how many problems have been completed along with the totals for correct and wrong answers. Graphics include: Smiling kids, kids playing outdoors, healthy fruit and vegetable snacks, boats, and buildings.
Total Practice Problems can be set between 5 and 100 problems, the Minute Math Timer can be set between 1/2 minute and 10 minutes, and High Scores can be cleared.

The application presents the user with a problem and a choice of four answers. This works well with multiplication. However with addition and subtraction the user only needs to figure out what the answer is in the ones column, once you know that answer you can choose the correct answer as only one of the four answer choices has that same number in the ones column. There need to be more answer choices with the same number in the ones column.
This app is weird. The on off options at the bottom are confusing. Theres no reward system like stickers or phrases like "youre doing great!" The symbols at the bottom give you an option to email friends to suggest the app. No thanks, I dont want my 8 yr old emailing anyone.
This is no fun about it. No rewards and the questions are not so special. Dont waste your $!
I am pleased with this app overall, educational and easy to use. The only thing is that in the recent update, the scores have changed. Your results show how many seconds it took you, but not how many problems you did. I will give a five star rating if the results are changed and show how many problems you have done.
